training
Running and staying active in Hong Kong during July and August can be challenging for anyone, especially teens.
Our Youth Team Summer Training is a more relaxed version of our regular season training schedule. We aim to keep kids active but in a healthy, sustainable way during the oppressive heat and humidity of Hong Kong summers.
The focus of sessions will be mostly lower intensity aerobic exercise, improving ability and understanding of heat training, and developing a healthy relationship with exercise.
This is ideal for any Hong Kong kid - a committed runner looking to up their mileage, a team sport athlete wanting to build fitness for the upcoming season, or beginners who want a less intense, lower stakes introduction to sports and exercise. All abilities welcome!

buffco summer camp
Since we started our youth team in 2019, summer camp has become an incredible tradition in our team.
Each July, BuffCo runners have the opportunity to travel with their coaches to a training camp overseas. We don't just teach them how to train and run more either, the kids will learn to cook, clean, budget, do chores, and look after themselves each day.
They get an insight into life as an athlete, as well as life at university and beyond.
In 2019 and 2023 we travelled to Flagstaff, Arizona, and in 2024 and 2025 we were based in Newcastle upon Tyne, UK.
